AND PURSUANT TO the Rules of the DIFC Courts (“RDC”)

SCHEDULE OF REASONS
1. This is the decision on costs following the Judgment in favour of the Claimants dated 19 June 2026.
2. The Claimants have sought costs in the total sum of AED 299,030.
3. The Defendant has neither consented to the sum sought nor proposed an alternative figure nor put in any submissions as the appropriate sum.
4. There is no doubt but that the Claimants are entitled to an order for their reasonable and proportionate costs given that they were the victors.
5. I have considered the schedule. The hours claimed are reasonable. The rate for a partner is a little above the Registrar’s guidance rate even taking into account the passage of time since the direction was issued in 2023. The other rates are within the band which is appropriate taking into account inflation since 2023.
6. In the circumstances, I consider a modest reduction to AED 295,000 to be appropriate
